Who We Are

UNDSEM (University of Notre Dame Society for Equity in Medicine) is a MANDUS sub-committee that focuses on raising awareness for, and promoting changes to issues related to inequality and inequity in the medical profession.  

We endeavour to celebrate and promote all narratives of diversity in the medical workforce including but not limited to; cultural and racial diversity, gender and sexuality diversity, diversity in age, ability, rurality and socio-economic background. 

What We Do

• Speaker events focusing on diversity and equality (E.g. ‘LGBTQI+ Health and its Applications in the Clinical Setting’) 
• Advocacy for equity and equality within the University (International Women’s day advocacy) 
• Advocacy for inclusion of LGBTIQ+ and cultural/racial diversity within the curriculum 
• Advocacy for gender neutral bathrooms to be established on campus
