Vampire Cup is the Australian Medical Students Association’s (AMSA) annual blood drive where medical and allied health students from across Australia compete with other universities to raise the most amount of blood donations. The blood drive is running from the 15th of March – 9th of May this year and will be conducted through the Australian Red Cross. UNDS’ campaign is well underway with 108 lives saved so far from blood donations by our students. We have had many students, including our MANDUS representatives, share photos of their blood donation experience – some of them even doing it for the first time!
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, thousands of donors are cancelling their appointments which has significantly increased the demand for blood donations. This campaign has an incredibly important role in closing that gap to ensure that life-saving treatments are provided for those in need during these trying times.
