RANZCP Introduction to Psychiatry Short Courses

Are you a medical student in your clinical years or a junior doctor (PGY 1/2)?

Would you like to know more about psychiatry & the latest in mental health?

Are you interested in a career that specialises in the mind?head

In August and September 2014 the RANZCP will be holding a series of Introduction to Psychiatry short courses in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney.

Each course will give up to 25 attendees the chance to hear and meet the professionals who specialise in the mind and find out more about mental health, psychiatric care and career pathways into the specialty.

The course content has been specifically designed by an expert panel of RANZCP Fellows to address any myths or misconceptions about psychiatry and will show the depth and range of the specialty and its application.

Courses will be held in:
• Melbourne – Friday 15 and Saturday 16 August 2014.
• Brisbane – Friday 29 August 2014.
• Sydney – Friday 12 and Saturday 13 September 2014.

The expert panel has created a program that is vibrant, fresh and educational. Course attendees will participate in interactive sessions that highlight current developments in psychiatry and mental health. They will also have a valuable opportunity to network with a variety of experienced psychiatrists and registrars as well as the chance to meet with peers from other universities who share their interest in mental health.

Medical students and junior doctors who wish to apply for a course place are invited to submit a 300-word personal statement on why they would like to attend; You will also need to be a current Psychiatry Interest Forum member (or have an application underway).

Applications are open from Wednesday 21 May 2014 until Wednesday 18 June 2014 and can be made online at www.ranzcp.org/introtopsychiatry
